On our recent trip to Switzerland, we spent a day in Lucerne, the most populous city in the central, german-speaking part of Switzerland.  On Lake Lucerne and surrounded by mountains, it’s incredibly picturesque and full of old world character.  We enjoyed a beer and pretzel sandwich overlooking the water, plus spent the day walking around and enjoying the sights.  It’s worth a visit, especially on a beautiful summer day!
